What the Scorebook can do
Record ippon with one tap
Just tap the big Men, Kote, Do, and Tsuki buttons. Two ippon end a game automatically, and “Undo last” fixes mistaps.
Team results judged automatically
For 5-player matches from senpo to taisho, the result is computed in real time in the standard order: wins → total ippon → daihyo.
Tag the reasons behind lost points
Tag a conceded ippon with issues like “froze up”, “hands lifted”, or “weak zanshin” in one tap (or skip it).
Analyze on the results dashboard
Win rate, winning techniques, each player’s best and conceded techniques, issue-tag rankings, and losses by time of match — all totaled automatically.

HOW TO USE
Getting started is easy
Register your own team once, and after that you just type the opponent’s name and tap to record. No opponent player registration needed.
STEP 1
Log in (no password)
Sign in with Google, or enter your email address and type the numeric code from the email you receive.
STEP 2
Register your team and players
Enter your team name and the players from senpo to taisho. You only do this once.
STEP 3
Create a match (opponent = just a name)
Enter a tournament name (optional) and the opponent team’s name. Your team is set automatically — pick the lineup and you’re ready.
STEP 4
Record each ippon
Courtside on your phone, tap Men, Kote, Do, or Tsuki for either side. Two ippon end the game automatically.
STEP 5
Results become charts automatically
Recorded matches are totaled on the dashboard: win rate, winning techniques, and each player’s strengths, conceded points, and issues.

Frequently asked questions
Is it really completely free?
Yes. Both signing up and using the app are completely free. There are no membership fees, subscriptions, in-app purchases, or paid plans — every feature, from recording ippon to analyzing results, stays free.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No install is needed — it runs right away in your phone or PC browser (iOS / Android / PC). You do need to sign up with an email address or a Google account. With email you receive a one-time numeric code, so no password is required. The login email is currently written in Japanese — simply enter the numeric code it contains.
Will I receive a newsletter? Can I unsubscribe?
Signing up also adds you to the KOBUDO newsletter with kendo tips and offers, which is written in Japanese. You can unsubscribe anytime from the link inside the email. Using the app itself never costs anything.
Can other people see the data I record?
No. Your records are private and visible only to you. Your team's and players' results are never published.
Does it judge team match results automatically? Do I have to register opponent players?
Yes. For 5-player team matches (senpo to taisho) the winner is decided automatically in the standard order: wins, then total ippon, then a daihyo match. You record each ippon by tapping Men, Kote, Do, or Tsuki, and a game ends automatically at two ippon. Opponents only need a team name — no opponent player registration.
I don't know the paper scorebook notation. Is recording still easy?
Yes. Create a match and just tap the technique of each ippon. There is no notation to learn, and win rates, techniques, and per-player results are charted automatically. It is made for coaches, players, and scorekeepers — and it is free.
Can I print the score sheet or save it as a PDF?
Yes. Every recorded match can be shown as a traditional-style A4 score sheet (senpo-to-taisho pairings, techniques, and results) and printed as is, or saved as a PDF — useful for keeping and sharing tournament records.
